Earlier this year I had planned to launch a short newsletter to share what I’ve been up to, & it has been a while so now is the time for an update!
Everyone on my list today I personally know either as a family member or friend.
To keep it brief, here are the Top 5 Things I’ve been up to these past few months:
1. Breaking Through & Growing Skills
I finally had the chance to attend the popular Tony Robbins UPW event, & am so glad I did it. You can check it out from my latest post at http://DestroyObstacles.com. I’ve also been taking business & other classes, many of them free through the library. Connect with me on LinkedIn to see what skills I’m learning if we’re not already – info to reply below
2. Monthly Webinars to Share Knowledge
One goal I’ve set is to spend more quality time with my daughters. Last month we recorded a quick activity we did to assess how we’re doing in areas of our “Wheel of Life.” We’ll do these activities monthly, & next one scheduled is to set Growth Mindset Goals. You can sign up & access past webinars at https://do.destroyobstacles.com/events
3. Book Club & Other Groups
I’m in a virtual book club & plan on reviewing/discussing Tim Ferriss's "Tools of Titans" as our next book. I’m also in several mentoring groups to build connections & grow together. If interested just reply back. You can follow me on GoodReads where I keep my current books read up to date, & see more books I’ve enjoyed at https://do.destroyobstacles.com/books
4. My Toughest Challenge Yet
This July I celebrate 6 years left before I reach my ultimate financial goal of a work optional life, but in the meantime I’m tackling my toughest fitness challenge yet - the 75 Hard. Besides the usually diet/exercise routine, this one includes no alcohol. Tougher than I thought but meditation has helped, & I still track my runs & other fitness on Strava https://www.strava.com/athletes/digitalbeyond
5. Purchases I Find Value In
Well besides sharing ways I’m finding to invest more, there are purchases like tech/gadgets that I find value in. You can find these at my latest post at http://gamerwarrior.com.
As many of you know I avoid most social networking sites, especially ones designed to track & distract like Facebook/Instagram. But I regularly use GoodReads for book nerds, LinkedIn for career geeks, & Strava for fitness junkies. For gaming I do play Chess by Post using my screenname DigitalBeyond, & I haven’t had a new craft beer in a while, but will eventually post more favorites at Untappd https://untappd.com/user/Digitalbeyond
I’ll close this one with a quote:
“Time is really the only capital that any human being has, and the only thing he can’t afford to lose” ― Thomas Edison
Cheers to living life to its fullest!
